Mulberry Acupuncture & Wellness
What is acupuncture, really?
Acupuncture is a form of East Asian medicine that uses ultra-thin, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. These points activate your nervous system, increase circulation, and prompt the release of natural healing chemicals — like endorphins, serotonin, and immune cells. It’s like a reset button for your body’s communication systems.
Does it hurt?
Not really. Most people are surprised by how gentle it is. The needles are extremely thin — about the width of a human hair. You might feel a tiny pinch, a warm tingling, or a dull ache (which we call de qi — a good sign the point is activated). Many patients fall asleep during their sessions.
What does acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture treats a wide range of symptoms and conditions — from chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia to hormonal imbalance, fertility challenges, digestive issues, and more. You can explore a more detailed list on our What Acupuncture Treats page. Even if you don’t have a specific diagnosis, acupuncture can help you feel more energized, grounded, and resilient.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your condition and how long it’s been going on. Many people start with 1–2 sessions per week for the first few weeks. Once we see how your body responds, we’ll create a personalized plan that gradually spaces treatments out for long-term results. Acupuncture is cumulative — the more consistently we treat, the deeper and more lasting the results.
What can I expect after a session?
Most people feel relaxed, clear-headed, or a little sleepy — what we call the “acu glow.” You can learn more about what happens before, during, and after treatment on our What to Expect? page. Over the next few days, you might notice better sleep, less pain, improved digestion, or a shift in mood. As treatments continue, results become more consistent.
Is it safe?
Yes. Acupuncture is very safe when performed by a trained, licensed practitioner. At Mulberry, all of our providers are nationally board-certified, Clean Needle Certified, and follow rigorous hygiene standards. We use single-use, sterile needles and maintain the highest standards of safety and care.
What if I’m scared of needles?
That’s totally normal — and we’re here for it. Acupuncture needles are nothing like the ones at the doctor’s office. They're thin, flexible, and barely felt by most people. We’ll talk you through it and adjust your treatment to your comfort level. Many needle-shy folks end up loving it.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear loose, comfy clothing that can roll up above your knees and elbows. Eat a light meal beforehand — don’t come on an empty stomach. And bring your questions! This is your time to feel seen and supported.

Why should I try acupuncture?
Because it’s natural, effective, and treats more than just symptoms — it helps your body heal, reset, and find balance. If you’re tired of quick fixes or feeling like no one is connecting the dots, acupuncture offers a different way forward. Gentle, powerful, and deeply personalized.
